This delicious old fashioned pickle was made to be spread on bread and butter hence its name. However, some maintain that the name came about because the pickle was as common as bread and butter. Bread and butter pickle is made up of thin sliced gherkins and onions pickled in Maison Therese vinegar spiced with whole mustard seed, celery seed and tumeric.
Serving Suggestion
- Serve with crackers and cheese, goes particularly well with mature cheese.
- Delicious on your favourite plain bread with butter, as name suggests.
- Use your imagination as B & B goes in any type of sandwich, Panini, etc.
- Wonderfully tasty with meats, cheese, smoked meats eg. salami, pastrami, smoked chicken etc.
